INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH FOUR CYLINDERS LOCATED IN ROW AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC F01N13/10 F02F1/42 F02B75/20

Abstract RU 2606464 C2

FIELD: engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in internal combustion engines. Internal combustion engine has four cylinders (3), which are arranged in row along cylinders head (1) longitudinal axis (2). Each cylinder (3) has at least one outlet hole (4) for exhaust gases output from cylinder (3) through exhaust system, for this purpose each outlet hole (4) is connected to outlet channel (5). Cylinders (3) outlet channels (5) are connected in series with formation of common outlet pipeline (7). At least one outlet channel (5) of outer cylinder (3a) is connected with at least one outlet channel (5) of neighboring internal cylinder (3b) with formation of partial discharge pipeline (6) before, four cylinders (3, 3a, 3b) two outlet pipelines (6) are connected with formation of common outlet pipeline (7). Exhaust system outputs at cylinders head (1) outer side (8). Wall outer sections (9a), which in each case separate section from each other, at least one outlet channel (5) of outer cylinder (3a) and section of at least one outlet channel (5) of neighboring internal cylinder (3b) and extending into exhaust system, pass towards cylinders head (1) outer side (8) perpendicular to cylinders head (1) longitudinal axis (2) over distance smaller than wall inner section (9b), which separates section of two partial discharge pipelines (6) from each other. Section of two inner cylinders (3b) outlet channels (5) extends into exhaust system. Cylinders (3) outlet channels (5) are connected together to form common outlet pipeline (7) inside cylinders head (1) or outside of cylinders head (1). Disclosed is a method to operate an engine.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of cylinders mutual influence on each other at working mixture charge changing.
