FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: multi-cylinder internal combustion engine includes multiple combustion chambers each of which has at least one outlet hole, multiple outlet valves each of which has the possibility of opening or closing the outlet hole and outlet channel for movement of waste gas released from each of combustion chambers through outlet hole. Outlet channel includes convergent section having cross-section area for the flow, which is smaller at its outlet end than at its inlet end, divergent section located downstream relative to convergent section and having the cross-section area for the flow, which is bigger at its outlet end than at its inlet end, and outlet connecting section located closer in flow direction relative to divergent section, for connection of multiple combustion chambers, the opening periods of outlet holes of which are not shutoff, and non-connection of multiple combustion chambers the opening periods of outlet holes of which are shutoff. Compression shock is spread in outlet connection section with higher speed than waste gas passing to outlet connection section, when one of the multiple outlet holes connected by means of outlet connection section is open. Waste gas passing to outlet channel from combustion chamber passes through convergent section and comes across reflected compression shock between inlet end of outlet connection section and divergent section, thus increasing the waste gas pressure in convergent section. Waste gas passes through divergent section, thus generating new compression shock and creating negative pressure in part of outlet channel, which is located closer in flow direction relative to divergent section, which is created with new compression shock. The other version of design of multi-cylinder internal combustion engine, outlet method for multi-cylinder internal combustion engine, transport vehicle and sea vessel with such engine is described.
EFFECT: improving engine operating characteristics.
