FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to connection of ceramic parts from silicon carbide at production of articles, for example optical mirrors, long-length containers for radioactive waste disposal, etc. Method of connecting parts from silicon carbide, which involves machining of end surfaces of the connected parts, application onto the connected surfaces of a paste containing powders of silicon carbide with the particle size of 40–50 mcm and 5–10 mcm with the following component ratio, wt%: silicon carbide powder with the particle size of 40–50 mcm – 60–80, silicon carbide powder with the particle size of 5–10 mcm – 20–40, a binder – organosilicon lacquer in the amount of 100–150 wt% of the total weight of silicon carbide powder, and thermal treatment at the temperature of 1,450–1,500 °C during 15–20 minutes in the vacuum of 2–5×10-2 mmHg.
EFFECT: increased strength of connection parts and reduced duration of the process.
