FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of making articles from refractory ceramics, in particular to additive techniques for synthesis of ceramics and can be used in aircraft engineering and engine building. Method of obtaining articles of complex shape based on reaction-bonded silicon carbide involves layer-by-layer moulding of a workpiece from powder in the form of a rounded silicon granulate and/or silicon carbide powder with particle size of 25–300 mcm with simultaneous physical or chemical hardening. After curing, billet is impregnated with organic binder and heat treated in air or in nitrogen medium at temperature of 900 °C, then impregnation with silicon in liquid or gaseous phase at temperature of 1500–1900 °C. Organic binder used is phenol-formaldehyde resin, furfuryl alcohol, a solution of polycarbosilanes or polysilazanes.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of strength of articles, accuracy and quality of their surface due to thinner homogeneous microstructure of material.
