PULSED SOLID-STATE LASER Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC H01S3/06

Abstract RU 2629685 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: pulsed solid-state laser contains an active element in the form of a rod, both ends of which are bevelled so that the angle between the normal to the surface of the end and the longitudinal axis of the active element exceeds the maximum angle of the total internal reflection. The lateral surfaces of the rod, opposite to the bevelled ends, are made in the form of windows that are transparent to laser radiation. The second pump of the active element is inserted at the second pump source. The pump sources are installed at the bevelled ends of the active element in such a way that the pump radiation from both sources penetrates into the active element. Mirrors of the resonator are installed opposite the windows in the active element at its opposite ends so that a resonance condition is fulfilled between the mirrors. The length of the active element corresponds to the condition Hmin≥Hpores, where Hmin - the amount of irradiation from the pump source in the least irradiated cross-section of the active element; Hpores - the threshold amount of irradiation required for laser generation.

EFFECT: increasing the pumping efficiency and increasing the energy of laser output radiation.
