SUBSTANCE: solid state laser with q-switching includes a pumping source of radiation to the laser diode array, an active element, the first and the second mirrors of the resonator, and an electro-optical element and a polarizer, the active element is in the form of a rod, both ends of which are bevelled so that the angle between the normal to each end face and the axis of the active element exceeds the critical angle of total internal reflection, the lateral surface of the rod, opposite each bevelled end, is made in the form of a window transparent to laser radiation, the pumping source is mounted so that to the pump radiation penetrates through the bevelled end in the active element at the maximum depth, and the mirrors of the resonator are installed in front of the windows in the active element so that the optical axis of the mirrors are aligned with the optical axis of the active element, and the surface of the second end of the active element is rotated around the optical axis of the resonator by 90 degrees relative to the surface of the first end.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of increasing the energy of the laser output radiation and improving its temporal and spatial characteristics.
