SUBSTANCE: method of video data decoding. Method contains the stage at which entropy coded bit stream is received, including the first group of syntax elements that contain a plurality of flags, and the second group of syntax elements for prediction units (PU) of a coding units (CU). Syntax elements of the second group conform to the relevant syntax elements of the first group, wherein a flag from the plurality of flags of the first group of syntax elements indicates whether the brightness counts internal prediction mode of a corresponding PU in CU is based on index into the list of the most probable modes. In the internal prediction mode, brightness counts internal prediction is carried out using brightness counts in the same image.
EFFECT: improved video data coding and decoding efficiency by optimising order in which syntax elements are processed.
