FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: ICE connecting rod comprises an upper head (1) and a shank (2) where the upper head (1) has a central hole (3). The upper head (1) has a flexible construction made of a rigid material. Steel or alloy with σB breaking strength rupture limit which is greater than or equal to 700 MPa are used as a rigid material. The upper head (1) is connected to a wrist pin (4) by planting. The flexible construction of the upper head (1) is designed to provide the elastic deformation (2) of the central hole (3) along the direction of its axis that which occurs under pressure in the ICE cylinder afecting the wrist pin (4), to adapt this elastic deformation to the bending (Δ1) deformation of the wrist pin (4) along the direction of its axis. The upper head (1) comprises a circular body (1.1) and a flexible support. The circular body (1.1) surrounds the central hole (3), wherein the central hole (3) is a round hole with a constant diameter. The flexible support is formed by two grooved support parts (1.2), protruding from both sides of the central hole (3) in its axial direction, respectively. Each grooved support part (1.2) has an angular size less than half of the circumference and is made open. The open part of the grooved support part (1.2) is facing the top of the upper head (1). The inner cylindrical surface of the grooved support part (1.2) is an extension of the inner cylindrical surface of the central hole (3) bottom.

EFFECT: central hole of the connection rod upper head can fit flush with the wrist pin in any operating position, and friction properties between the central hole of the connection rod upper head and the wrist pin are significantly improved.
