FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the perlite dispersion-hardening steel to be used for the railway wheels construction. The steel contains, wt %: carbon 0.55-0.75, silicon 0.25-0.65, manganese 0.30-0.82, copper 0.36-1.40, chromium - no more than 0.1, phosphorus - not more than 0.030, sulfur - not more than 0.020, iron and unavoidable impurities - the rest. Manganese (Mn) and copper (Cu) contents are related to the following dependence: %Mn=1-(%Cu/2).
EFFECT: achievement of the wheels required hardness and strength.
