FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: worn side surface of the tram rail head is prepared. The surface is surfaced using a self-shielding powdered chromo-manganese wire by applying eight layers, providing an inter-through temperature of the melted surface of 180 to 200°C. And when surfacing the last layer, an elevation above the rolling surface of the rail is performed. Then, the surfaced layers are machined and sealed.
EFFECT: improving the quality of the surfaced layer, when restoring tram rails without interrupting the movement of trains and reducing labour costs.
