FIELD: personal demand items.
SUBSTANCE: pre-wetted wipes are provided containing a fibrous web impregnated with a liquid cleaning composition containing an unstable dispersion consisting of water, a surfactant and particles of a water insoluble polysaccharide, for example, natural starch and/or microcrystalline cellulose. Due to the instability of the dispersion, the particles are generally located on the surface of the fibers that form the fibrous web and are freed from the web freely as a result of mechanical and hydraulic forces associated with the use of the product. Pre-wetted wipes are suitable for use in personal care products, including the use as perineal wipes. Embodiments of the present invention additionally provide methods for the preparation of pre-wetted wipes containing a fibrous web impregnated with an unstable dispersion.
