FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: metal from a series including copper, lead, tin, zinc, aluminium and silver is chemically deposited on the surface of carbon nanotubes to produce modified carbon nanotubes, which are then mixed with a copper powder having a particle size of 3-10 mcm. The resulting mixture is subjected to mechanical activation and compacted by pressing into solids which are further heated to provide a melt with the retention of carbon nanotubes in the melt volume, after which the melt is cooled to form an ingot.

EFFECT: production of composite materials with different concentrations of carbon nanotubes.
