FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for high-precision determination of the mass of a two-phase single-component substance in a closed metal tank of a cylindrical shape regardless of the phase state of the substance. In particular, it can be used in fire fighting equipment to accurately determine the mass of the extinguishing agent, in particular carbon dioxide, in a tank (reservoir) and reduce it due to a possible leakage from the reservoir. The device comprises a capacitive mass sensor formed by the collection of the siphon tube as one of the sensor conductors and coaxially with respect to it located outside the metal tube as the second sensor conductor and an electronic unit. In this case, the length of the outermost metal tube is reduced from the bottom as compared to the length of the siphon tube, the reduction in the length of the metal pipe being 0.05÷0.25 of the length of the siphon tube. In this case, the mass sensor serves as the load resistance of a length of a coaxial long line, the inner and outer conductors of which are connected at one end to the upper ends of the siphon tube and the pine pipe with it, and at the other end to the electronic unit.
