SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment and can be used for high-precision determination of the level of a dielectric liquid stored in a container. In particular, it can be used for measuring the level of petroleum products, liquefied gases, etc. The technical result is achieved by the fact that, in the apparatus for measuring the level of liquid in a tank, containing two segments of a long line, located vertically in the tank with the monitored liquid, connected to an electronic unit, one of the segments of the long line is made in the form of a U-shaped hollow segment of a two-wire long line, and the other is made in the form of a segment of a coaxial long line, serving as the outer conductor whereof is the inner surface of a segment of the two-wire long line, and the inner conductor thereof is located coaxially with the outer conductor thereof in a hollow segment of a two-wire long line, wherein the lower ends of the segments of the long line are aligned with the bottom of the tank, the segment of the two-wire long line comprises at the lower end thereof a terminal horizontal section, discontinuously filled with a liquid and emptied, accordingly, when the liquid enters the tank and is removed from the tank.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of measurement.
