FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: in a polymerization reactor for the production of thermoplastic high-purity polymers containing two chambers arranged one above the other and connected by a central branch pipe, each chamber being in the form of a vertical cylindrical shell with a jacket, a bottom with an unloading nozzle, a cover with connections for the inlet and outlet of the coolant and a branch pipe for the supply of reagents and a concentric coil for the coolant located coaxially inside each housing. The reagent feed pipe is located in the center of the upper chamber cover and the reactor is fitted with a coaxial distributor of the monomer and reflectors located in each chamber in front of the discharge nozzles inserted into the nozzle for supplying the reactants, in accordance with the invention, ring inserts having a conic-cross section and reducing the cross-sectional area of the annular gap between the reactor shell and the jacket of 0.25 to 0.5 times.
EFFECT: reducing the energy costs due to efficient heat supply.
