SUBSTANCE: method of development of a bituminous oil reservoir from a horizontal well includes construction of a horizontal well drilling in, running tubing, supply of coolant through the tubing and taking well stream. Prior to the construction of the horizontal well, exploration is carried out to identify areas with gas caps. The horizontal well is located under the gas cap. During construction, a pressure and temperature control device is installed therein. Water vapor is used as the working agent, which is cyclically injected at a pressure not exceeding the pressure in the gas cap, combining it with holding for thermocapillary imbibition and further take of products through the tubing.

EFFECT: increase in the oil recovery factor in reservoirs with low reservoir pressure and gas caps, while reducing the cost of heating the reservoir by avoiding the breakthrough of the coolant into the gas caps.
