FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: method for developing bituminous oil field includes drilling of horizontal production well and vertical injection well located above, pumping working agent through injection well, and extracting formation product through production well. Before commencement of construction, the deposit is studied to select areas with gas caps, and pressure control devices are installed in wells during construction. The bottomhole of the vertical well is arranged 5-10 m above the middle part of the horizontal well. The horizontal and vertical wells are opened below the gas cap. Water vapour is applied as working agent which is pumped at a pressure not higher than the pressure in the gas cap, first in the two wells to create a permeable zone between open sections of the wells, then a horizontal well is assigned for collection of products.

EFFECT: increase in oil recovery factor while reducing costs for production formation heating by eliminating the outbreak of heat carrier into gas caps.
