FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: mobile communication system provides a wireless access interface for data transmission to and/or from mobile communication devices. The wireless access interface is provided on the first downlink carrier. The first carrier provides a plurality of communication resource elements in the entire first frequency band for data transmission and provides a plurality of communication resource elements within the second frequency band located within and less than the first frequency band. The wireless access interface provided by the base stations includes a plurality of subframes separated in time. Each subframe includes a plurality of the first frequency band communication elements and a plurality of the second frequency band communication elements, and each subframe includes the first wideband control channel in a portion of each subframe having a bandwidth corresponding substantially to the first frequency band and the second narrowband control channel located in the second portion of each subframe and having a bandwidth that is smaller than the first wideband control channel and the duration of the second narrowband control channel within the subframe is greater than the duration of the first wideband control channel within the subframe. The second narrowband control channel is configured to transmit control information both to the first mobile communication devices and to the second mobile communication devices and forms part of a plurality of communication resource elements of the second frequency band of the second carrier. By placing the narrowband control channel, which will be located within the virtual carrier and will ensure the transmission of control information both into the first communication devices with full functionality and into the second communication devices with reduced functionality, the second device with reduced functionality can provide access to the narrowband control channel that is shared with the first mobile device with full functionality.
EFFECT: specified location allows to use the communication resources available in the communication system to a greater extent.
