FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: abrasive powder consists of converter slag of metallurgical manufacture and contains 96-99.9 wt % of a compound mixture: portlandite (CaO⋅H2O), magnetite (Fe3O4), brucite (Mg (OH)2), calcite (CaCO3), spermite (2Ca2SiO4⋅CaCO3), calcium aluminate (5Ca⋅O3Al2O3), spinel (MgAl2O4), periclase (MgO), calcium silicate (Ca2SiO4) and 0.1-4 wt % of elements such as S and/or Mn, and/or Cr, and/or Zn, and/or Ti, and/or V. At least, 95 wt % of the powder particles are isometric and the remaining particles have a non-isometric elongated shape.

EFFECT: increasing the efficiency and quality of surface treatment by increasing the strength of abrasive powder.
