FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: hemostatic pad contains a biologically absorbable framework material, lyophilized thrombin powder, lyophilized fibrinogen powder and polyethylene glycol. Thrombin and fibrinogen particles are distributed on a biologically absorbable framework material. Polyethylene glycol binds thrombin particles and fibrinogen particles to the biologically absorbable framework material of the pad. Polyethylene glycol has an average molecular weight of 1,000 to 20,000 Daltons. A method for hemostatic pad manufacture and a method for hemostatic treatment of the wound region are also described.
EFFECT: hemostatic pad according to the invention has improved shedding characteristics and hemostatic characteristics.
