FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: noise suppressor includes a body with end walls, inlet and outlet pipes and a noise-supressing element made in the form of chambers filled with noise-supressing material formed by coaxially installed perforated inserts with partitions and the inner surface of the body; in the central part of the noise-supressing element along its perimeter there is a tank opened on the airduct side and formed by the inner surface of the body and the end surfaces of the inserts, and one of the chambers comprises an axially movable partition formed in the cross-sectional shape of the chamber, and the movable partition is rigidly connected to at least two guide rails located on both sides of the diagonal of the cross section interacting with slots formed on the end face of the insert. A guiding apron is attached to the movable partition perpendicular to it and along the entire perimeter and interacts with the inner surface of the insert.
EFFECT: noise suppression efficiency improvement.
