FIELD: communication technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of communication with application in a wireless transmission/reception module (WTRU). The method provides for: generation by the station control object (SME) of a request primitive that provides the process of scanning wake-up radio devices (WUR) for WUR detection frames transmitted by one or more access points (AP), and the request primitive contains a set of the first parameters; performing the WUR scanning process using WUR based on a set of first parameters; generating at least one confirmation primitive at the MAC level based on the result of the WUR scanning process and at least part of the set of first parameters; and transmitting at least one confirmation primitive from the MAC level to SME.

EFFECT: achieving the ability for WTRU to determine when to start scanning wake-up radio devices (WUR).
