SUBSTANCE: motor control device (15) is a motor control system having an electric power converter (13), a smoothing capacitor (14) and an AC three-phase electric motor (14), a generation device (156u, 156v, 156w) that generates a signal (Vmu, Vmv, Vmw) modulation by adding a third harmonic signal (Vh1) to the command voltage signal (Vu, Vv, Vw) of the phase; a control device that controls the operation of the electric power converter using a modulation signal; and a tuning device (155) that adjusts the amplitude of the third harmonic signal, the tuner adjusts the amplitude of the third harmonic signal so that the peak voltage value (VH) between the terminals of the smoothing capacitor in the case where the amplitude of the third harmonic signal is tuned is less than the peak value of voltage between the terminals in the case where the amplitude of the third harmonic signal is not set.

EFFECT: suppression of voltage pulsations between the terminals of the smoothing capacitor.
