SUBSTANCE: system for manufacturing a beverage is described, comprising a capsule containing beverage ingredients and a beverage preparation device. The capsule comprises a cup-shaped housing and a cover; wherein the cup-shaped housing has a base and a side wall, and the cover is sealed relative to the cup-shaped housing. The side wall has dimensions allowing the enclosing element of the beverage preparation device to come into contact with it when closing the enclosing element in order to bend the side wall with forming a recessed area enveloping the enclosing element. The side wall is formed in such a way that said recessed area forms at least one sealed joint between the enclosing element and the side wall.

EFFECT: due to the capsule implementation, the enclosing element does not press the capsule with capturing the beverage ingredients between the front edge and the capsule holder, which can adversely affect the liquid tightness of the seal.
