FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: induction heat treatment method of drill pipes welded joint includes heating under austenitization to a temperature of not more than 970°C with a holding time of 15-30 s for 1 mm of welded joint cross section, cooling and tempering at temperature Ac1±30°C with holding increased to three times with respect to the austenitization time. When processing in a production line, an increase in the holding time during tempering can be realized by installing an additional time relay.
EFFECT: method allows to reduce the number of technological operations and conduct induction heat treatment of the welded joint in one cycle, while ensuring the performance characteristics of the drill pipe with a lock made of high-strength steels.
