FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: to provide strength of welded joint zone of drilling pipes, method involves tempering of welded joint by heating with currents of medium frequency to temperature of 400–450 °C with holding for at least 60 seconds and cooling in calm air, as well as subsequent hardening by heating high-frequency currents to temperature of Ac3+200÷250 °C with cooling in sprayer by water flow.
EFFECT: method provides connection of drill pipes without upset parts with locks high resistance to fatigue loads; in addition, reduced power and time costs for production of pipes without upset ends, high technological effectiveness of the process, reduced losses of metal for scaling, maintaining accuracy of pipe geometry.
