FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for recognizing a user by a 3D scanning method and can be used to allow a user to pass to an access area or exit from an access area. The claimed contactless biometric user identification device according to the facial features comprises a housing installed before entrance/exit from the access area at an average height of the user from the floor level; bracket, rigidly fixed in the body and designed to mount the camera for 3D scanning; and a camera for 3D scanning the user's face mounted in the body on the bracket so that the optical axis of the camera forms an angle α in the range from 0 to 40 degrees in the direction up or down from the horizontal. At the same time, the camera angle β is limited and ranges from 45 to 75 degrees. Also, the device contains a database of images of persons who have the right to enter the access area; and mounted in the housing: an imaging unit electrically coupled to the 3D scanning chamber; projection system using the method of structural illumination mounted on the bracket in close proximity to the camera so that the optical axis of the projector is perpendicular to the plane of the bracket; display for displaying a user's face located on the front panel of the housing and associated with the imaging unit; scanned image registration unit associated with the camera and with the calculation unit; block for comparing 3D images of users' faces with images stored in a database, associated with a database of images of users faces; means for controlling the opening mechanism of the locking device installed at the entrance/exit of the access region. Moreover, the control means is connected with the output of a block for comparing 3D images of users' faces with images stored in the database.
