FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: method for preventing excessive formation of foam in oil raw material coking process comprises: filling coke drum with initial raw material for coking; monitoring of initial raw material for coking in said coke drum; ceasing feeding initial raw material for coking, when volume of said coking raw material is 66 to 80% of said coke drum inner volume; injecting de-foaming agent in said coke drum when volume of de-foaming agent is sufficient to prevent foam layer contacting said raw material surface in the upper pipeline leading from said coke drum. Said stage for injecting de-foaming agent starts when said drum is filled up to 60-70% of its total inner volume. Said de-foaming agent comprises silicone and carrier liquid. The concentration of aromatic compounds in said carrier liquid is more than 90 wt %.

EFFECT: improvement of foaming control in coking process to increase the yield of the liquid product with improved coke which reduces the amount of utilised silicone AF agent.
