SUBSTANCE: method and apparatus (10) of 3D volume speed control for the rotary dump reclaimer is described (16). The apparatus includes a data processor (20) for (i) processing 3D images obtained by the 3D image sensors (12) to create a 3D profile of the blade surface, (ii) calculating the shear rate at the fence at which the material is cut from On the basis of the measured change in the volume of the 3D profile of the blade shoulder surface in the region adjacent to the excavation tool, (iii) calculating the shear volume at the material removal that will be cut off from the blade surface, based on the shape of the excavation tool and 3D profile shoulder blade surface to determine the profile of volumetric rate at cutoff fence feedforward and (iv) calculating operating parameter for reclaimer based on the desired volumetric rate of cutoff while reclaiming compared to the measured volumetric rate of cutoff while reclaiming and profile of volumetric rate of the cutoff while reclaiming with anticipation.
EFFECT: method and the device provide an accurate measurement of the fence volume so that the volumetric fence speed becomes independent of the product characteristics, the shape of the blade surface and the parameters of the bucket wheel cutting.
