FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for electroslag melting of solid, hollow and shaped blanks from high-alloy steels with low oxygen content, in particular medium and high pressure rotors, hot steam pipelines, shut-off and regulating valves for power and gas and petrochemical engineering. The process includes remelting of the consumable electrodes, forming of slag melt and a metal ingot in the crystalliser, oxygen partial pressure in the slag is measured, the amount of deoxidizer is calculated and the deoxidizer is fed to the slag bath. The time between measurements of oxygen partial pressure is 0.1-0.9 of the remelting time, the time for feeding of the deoxidizer is 0.005-0.04 of the remelting time, and calculation of deoxidant amount is carried out at the value of oxygen partial pressure in the slag exceeds 10-6 Pa according to the formula.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce oxygen content in combination with an increase in chemical uniformity of the ingot and a decrease of metal contamination with nonmetallic inclusions.
