COUPLING FOR FIBER CONNECTOR WITH HIGH DENSITY OF PLACING FULL SET OF FIBERS Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G02B6/38 G02B6/24

Abstract RU 2630201 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: coupling for holding optical fibers in the fiber optic connector includes a body structured in such a way that it has open recesses to hold exposed, bare-exposed end fragments of the first and second plurality of optical fibers. Partitions provided for separating adjacent optical fibers and defining the walls of adjacent open recesses, such that each open recess accommodates the optical fiber in such a way that it does not protrude beyond the edge of the recess. The housing of the sleeve includes opposing first and second portions arranged oppositely to each other to hold the end fragments of the first and second plurality of optical fibers. The end fragments of the first plurality of optical fibers are staggered with respect to the end fragments of the second plurality of optical fibers on opposing surfaces of the first and second housing parts. In addition, the first and second plurality of recesses for holding the optical fibers can be defined on the first and second surface of the perimeter of the housing, respectively.

EFFECT: creating a fiber optic connector with a high density of optical fibers and low losses.
