FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to connectors for an optical fibre, in particular to an arrangement of couplers in the fibre-optic connectors. The submitted coupler contains a body supporting the end portion of optical fibres and having an outer surface for alignment with a complementary surface of the alignment sleeve, where the outer surface of the body is generally cylindrical, having a cross-sectional profile of the contact surface, which generally has an oval shape. The body comprises two half-couplers, where a plurality of longitudinal open grooves is provided at least on the surface of one of the half-couplers, where a half-coupler having a plurality of grooves is formed from the blank by punching, thereby defining the grooves with respect to the outer surface of the half-coupler. The coupler has an outer surface for alignment with the complementary surface of the equalizing (aligning) sleeve.
EFFECT: reducing the signal loss.
