FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to signal transmission over fiber optic cables, in particular to a device for an optical fiber physically and optically coupling for routing of the optical signals. Claimed connection device for physical and optical connection of an optical fiber for routing optical signals and a manufacturing method thereof comprises a base having a textured reflective surface and an optical fiber fixing structure, defined on the base in such a way, that the optical fiber end is located at a predetermined distance from the textured reflecting surface along the optical fiber axis, where the optical fiber fixing structure accurately aligns the optical fiber with respect to the structured reflective surface, so that the light emerging from the optical fiber, may be reflected by a textured reflecting surface outward from the coupling device, or light from the outside of the connecting device, incident on the textured reflective surface, can be reflected towards the optical fiber. Optical fiber fixing construction includes a recess formed in the base, where the recess is aligned with respect to the textured reflecting surface. Textured reflective surface and the optical fiber fixing structure containing the recess are produced by stamping of the base.
