FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: skin dressing contains the first and second electrodes, a power source, which is not electrically connected to either one or both of the first and second electrodes, and a precursor of a physiologically or antimicrobically active substance. The dressing is designed to be activated when placed on the area of the skin which must be cured by connecting both first and second electrodes to the power source, thereby triggering electrochemical oxidation or reduction of the precursor substance on one of the electrodes to produce a physiologically or antimicrobially active oxidized or reduced compound which is capable of diffusing towards the skin area for its treatment.
EFFECT: application of the invention allows to improve the usability of the dressing for delivering physiologically active compounds.
