FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: composition for applying a lubricating silicone coating comprises a cross-linkable silicone polymer having reactive functional groups; non-crosslinkable silicone polymer. This polymer has a weight average molecular weight of more than about 200000; a silicone crosslinking agent; and a catalyst, in which the catalyst comprises a platinum-divinyltetramethyldisiloxane-ethynylcyclohexanol complex having the formula Pt[(CH2=CH)(Me)2Si]2O⋅C6H10(OH)(C≡CH). Coatings provide improved lubricity, wear resistance, and are ready for application in coating processes. The invention also relates to an innovative platinum catalyst for use in such coatings.
EFFECT: catalyst provides rapid curing while simultaneously inhibiting cross-linking at ambient temperatures, thereby improving the production life of the coatings.
