FIELD: aviation.

SUBSTANCE: device for landing an aircraft on a ship contains brake devices in the form of a hook and an arresting gear with a brake in the form of a linear magnetic circuit, located along the landing area of the deck. In the transverse grooves of the magnetic circuit, a three-phase winding is set, connected to the power supply source. The hook contains a barbell and a shoe attached at the end of the hook by a hinge. The shoe is made two-layered, the lower layer of which is made of a non-magnetic electrically conducting metal, and the upper layer is made of ferromagnetic material.

EFFECT: reliability of landing the aircraft on the ship is ensured.
