FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: film-forming solution for the preparation of multilayer pigment substrate contains a binder, a solvent that forms a colloidal solution with a binder, a metameric pigment or a metameric combination of pigments. The said pigments are particles of a selectively absorbing ultradispersed pigment or a combination of pigments having a diameter of less than 80 nm having at least two transmission maxima in the visible range. The solution additionally contains a surfactant. Method for producing a multilayer pigment substrate comprises feeding a film-forming solution to the foaming agent to form a foam material. Convective, radiation or inductive drying of the foamed material is then carried out. The dried material is ground to form substrate particles. The obtained particles are washed with a weak acid or a solution of acidic salts, dried and heat-treated.
EFFECT: increasing the contrast of colour change of multilayer pigment when the angle of view is changed or when lighting conditions change.
