FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: surface of the molybdenum tape, securely fixed with its ends and arched upwards in the form of an arch, is heated by resistive, inductive or radiation exposure to a temperature of 650-700°C in an oxidizing gaseous environment containing from 10 to 40% of oxygen and an inert gas or a mixture of inert gases at a pressure exceeding 100 Pa, maintained at this temperature for at least 10 s from the moment of the occurrence of MoO3 vapours of white colour, then the heating is stopped and molybdenum tape is cooled to 25°C, after which the heating is resumed at a temperature of 650-700°C up to the formation on the ends and the surface of molybdenum tape from MoO3 vapours of thin needle monocrystals of molybdenum oxide with length up to 5 mm.
EFFECT: resulting crystals are easily separated from the workpiece in the form of a tape, have a high degree of purity and structural perfection.
