FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: image fragment data are organized by the server into a hierarchical structure, wherein each level of the hierarchical structure preserves a subset of the image fragments associated with a particular permission level. When the client device requests a new type of image with a higher resolution, a reference point of the first type of image is determined. Based on the reference point, the first reference image fragment is determined from the first layer image fragments. Using the hierarchical structure, the corresponding four daughter fragments of the second level image are determined, wherein the corresponding four daughter fragments of the second layer image form the second reference image fragment. The second reference image fragment is sent to the client device. The first reference image fragment is replaced in memory with the second reference image fragment. The first reference image fragment is replaced on the output device by the second reference image fragment.

EFFECT: increaseing the speed of rendering the image on the client device.
