SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to mapping applications. Method for drawing search results on a map displayed on an electronic device is proposed, search results correspond to a geo-request associated with a map, and an electronic device can communicate with a map server via a data network. Method includes supporting POI label drawing rules that prescribe drawing rules for processing POI tags associated with POIs that form part of a ranked set of search results. When an electronic device processes additional sets of ranked search results, the method involves creating a POI tag density ratio, which is used to modify the drawing rules used to draw new POI tags. Processing rules can be defined for each zoom level of the map viewport. Method further includes performing an overlap verification procedure to further modify the drawing rules for POI tags.
EFFECT: technical result consists in realizing the purpose of an expanded Arsenal of technical means for drawing search results on a map displayed on an electronic device.
