FIELD: pharmacology.
SUBSTANCE: composition includes racecadotril, polyoxyl 35 castor oil as a surfactant, caprylic/capric acid triglycerides 70:30 as lipid and water. A dosage form for diarrhea treatment comprising the said pharmaceutical microemulsion composition and a method of treatment of a subject suffering from diarrhea comprising oral administration of said composition are also described. The liquid pharmaceutical microemulsion composition of racecadotrile as per invention is stable for 3 months at 40°C.
