FIELD: automotive engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices providing the passive safety of pedestrians and road users moving on double-wheel vehicles when they collide with the front of cars. The device contains a set of vehicle overload sensors and a control module associated with gas generators, and an external airbag covering the car's windshield with racks and the roof edge. The airbag has boards on the left and right edges with shelves from the inside at the top and the inner side surfaces of these boards (ISSTB) are parallel to the longitudinal axis of the car and are perpendicular to the road plane and the upper and lower surfaces of the mentioned shelves are parallel to the axis of symmetry of the windshield (ASW) and perpendicular to the ISSTB. The board on the upper edge has a shelf located on its front side at the top along its width, the front and back surfaces of this board are perpendicular to the ASW, and the upper and lower surfaces of this shelf are perpendicular to the front and back surfaces of this board.
EFFECT: improved protection effectiveness.
