FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for preparing the block copolymer comprises the step (E) of micellar radical polymerization. At this step, the following components are brought into contact in the aqueous medium (M): hydrophilic monomers dissolved or dispersed in an aqueous medium (M); hydrophobic monomers in the form of a micellar solution containing, in a dispersed form in medium (M), micelles containing these hydrophobic monomers; at least, one radical polymerization initiator that is water-soluble or dispersible in water; at least, one radical polymerization control means. The block copolymer can be used in the extraction of oil or natural gas, in particular for the production of drilling fluids, for fracturing a formation, for intensifying production or for increasing the oil recovery rate. The block copolymer can be used to enhance oil recovery (EOR).
EFFECT: invention allows to prepare block copolymers with controlled molecular weight, and to provide effective control of the polymer microstructure.
