SUBSTANCE: in the method of determining the waste of the weft threads while geosynthetic grid manufacturing consisting in photographing the selected area, forming a file in the computer with the image of the analyzed area according to the invention, forming a square setting gauge with predetermined internal dimensions, laying it down on the surface of the textile grid to define the boundaries of the analyzed area, then sequentially count the number of weft and warp threads in the image on the computer, determine the average distance between the warp and weft threads, form the calculated grid of weave threads with the sizes defining the average distance between the warp and weft threads, calculate the total lengths of the weft threads over the entire area of the analyzed area of calculated grid using a computer program, measure the total length of the weft threads on the actual image, and by their difference determine the weft threads waste on the entire area of the geogrit.

EFFECT: ability to determine the waste characteristics of the weft threads and reduce the time spent on their determination.
