METHOD TO DEFINE CRIMP (SHRINKAGE) OF THREADS IN FABRIC Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC G01N33/36

FIELD: textile, paper.

SUBSTANCE: when implementing the method, crimp (shrinkage) of warp and weft threads in fabric as total crimp of threads in vertical and horizontal planes is determined, along height of warp bend wave and diameters of threads along horizontal and vertical axes, produced by images of microcuts along the warp and weft of fabric sections treated with an adhesive substance, linear density of warp and weft threads preliminarily found in a laboratory, as well as density of threads in fabric along warp and weft and interweaving of threads in fabric with building of frontal profiles of interweaving repeat threads in fabric, taking into account availability of lower and upper arcs in a crossing of a thread from one system with a thread of another system, enveloping rated ellipse-shaped cross sections of the first system threads and rectilinear sections of the second system thread axes, connecting these arcs, detection of angles of inclination of rectilinear sections of thread axes in crossings, and also rectilinear sections of threads of the second system in decks, location of actual coordinates of centres of overlapping between warp and weft threads, building of horizontal projections of warp and weft threads axes and additional account of crimp (shrinkage) of threads in a horizontal plane.

EFFECT: higher accuracy and validity of determination, possibility to define crimp of threads in single-layer fabrics of any weaves.
