FIELD: automotive engineering.

SUBSTANCE: power distribution mechanism (PDM) in a vehicle transmission system includes two-stage reduction gear system. PDM input link is indirectly connected to the engine, and the output links are indirectly connected, for example, through the semi-axles, with drive wheels of the vehicle. The composition of the PDM includes planetary gear rows (zero, additional, first and second - in accordance with the sequence in the direction from the input to the output link). Zero row, directly connected with the input link, corresponds functionally to the simple differential. Braking elements T1 And T2 are provided to do a differentiated braking action on the links of the gear unit and an electronic control system for the said braking elements. The gear part is formed with four cylindrical three-link planetary gear rows. Its input link is connected to the links of, at least, two planetary gear rows. The braking elements control system is made using the principle of pulse width modulation of pressure in the friction contact pairs of braking elements.
