FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device for investigating the thermohydraulic characteristics of a lead-lithium blanket contains vertical lifting and lowering channels of rectangular cross-section with a flow rotation of 90°, input and output collectors. In addition, the device has, at least, two elevating vertical channels connected hydraulically in parallel and divided in the direction of the magnetic field by, at least, one or two partitions into subchannels, as well as electric heating elements located on the outer walls of the device and between the said channels.
EFFECT: optimisation of the possibilities for modeling the physical characteristics of the blanket, in particular the hydrodynamic and thermal characteristics of the liquid metal flow in a magnetic field.
