FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: round pipe is set by a grab on a forging axis and subjected to radial forging by strikers of a forging block. At that the rotating pipe is fed from the strikers. At that the rotating pipe is fed from the strikers. The profiles of the adjacent strikers forming a twisted pipe are successively displaced along the axis of forging along the helical line in the direction of rotation and pipe feed by the value of S×Z/K, where S is pitch of turns of the twisted pipe, mm, z is number of turns of the twisted pipe, k is number of strikers simultaneously forming the twisted pipe. The rotation of the pipe is carried out with 60 rpm ×V/(S×/Z), where V is rate of pipe feed from strikers, mm/s. During forging two manipulators are used located on both sides of the forging block. One end of the pipe is directed towards the forging block and second end is directed towards one of manipulators. Then the pipe is moved between the strikers in direction towards another manipulator by means of which the pipe is further fed from the strikers, and the rotation is carried out.
EFFECT: increased forging efficiency and expanded process capabilities when producing the twisted pipes.
