FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the pressure metals treatment, and can be used during the round profiles production by the square workpiece radial forging. Performing the workpiece compression by the two mutually perpendicular pairs of strikers with the said pairs of strikers working surfaces displacement relative to each other along the forging axis. Displacement value exceeds the striker working surface length. Using the strikers, on the working surface having a carved groove with angled side surfaces. Workpiece compression is carried out diagonally with the correct octahedral profile production with the inscribed circle diameter equal to the round profile diameter. Octagonal profile is subjected to compression for three passes with the workpiece rotation before each passage. At that, on the first passage, producing the sixteen-sided profile, and on the second passage is the twenty-four-sided profile. On the third passage, producing the thirty-two-sided profile, which has the inscribed circle diameter equal to the round profile diameter, and meets imposed on the round profiles dimensional accuracy requirements.
EFFECT: result is enabling expansion of the method technological capabilities, increase in the strikers durability and the produced round profiles quality.
