FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes continuous polymerization of butadiene-1,3 in a hydrocarbon solvent in a cascade of reactors under the action of an anionic initiator at a temperature of 80-90°C to produce a reaction mass. Herewith the anionic initiator is modified with alcoholates of alkali and alkaline-earth metals. The resulting reaction mass is then reacted with styrene at a temperature of 60-75°C.
EFFECT: increased monomer costs and an increase in block copolymer productivity, an increase in the range of polymerization equipment, and the production of a block copolymer with a high content of styrenic units in the block.
